To setup Microsoft Outlook Express to check your e-mail:
- Open Microsfot Outlook Express
- On the menu bar, select Tools
- Under Tools, select Accounts...
- A window will open with 4 tabs at the top. Select the Mail tab.
- On the right hand side, click the Add button, then select Mail
- This will run the Internet Connection Wizard
- In the text box, type what you would like to call this account. This can be your name or any other title you would like. After you have entered a name, click next.
- On this next screen, enter your e-mail address that you would like Outlook Express to check, then click next.
- On the next screen, you should fill in the fields with the following information
- Incoming Mail Server: POP3 Mail Server
- Incoming Mail Server: mail.yourdomain.com
yourdomain.com is the part of your e-mail address following the @ symbol
- Outgoing Mail Server: Same as the incoming mail server.
- Once you have entered the information about click next.
- On the next screen you need to enter your login information. Enter your username and password, then select next.
- On the next screen, click next, then finish.
- After you click finish, you sill see the new mail account you created in the internet accounts window.
- Select the e-mail account you just created and click the Properties button on the right.
- Under the Servers tab, make sure the My Server Requires Autentication is checked. If not, check it now.
- Click Apply then OK and then Outlook will be set up to check your e-mail.
